The Arboretum in Wilmington, NC is a seven acre area consisting of all local plants. Visitors can see a beautiful array of plant displays throughout the arboretum. The arboretum was started as a part of an initiative with NC State University and NC A&T University. Cooperative Extension Agents, from the University, are able to provide research based information through educational programs, publications and events. It is primarily a resource center and they wish to be the best in the Southeast United States. They hope to promote horticultural education, community partnership and environmental stewardship.
